Biography

Catalin Chimirel is the Head of Energy Efficiency and New Technologies at Romanian TSO, Transelectrica. With extensive experience in power systems, he has developed key studies in transmission, distribution, and energy market design. He played a pivotal role in structuring Transelectrica's Metering Branch and developing procedures still used for energy market settlements.

As a former board member, Catalin promoted safe operations and advanced research in the energy sector. He now leads efforts on renewable integration, energy efficiency, storage, and smart grids for secure grid operation.
