Sungrow and Delta Capacity signed a 1 GWh battery storage deal in London, targeting Scandinavia and Central Europe
30 Jun 2026

Signed at Energy Storage Summit London on 6 March 2026, a 1 GWh framework agreement between Sungrow and Delta Capacity puts real weight behind Europe's battery storage ambitions. Construction is already underway, with Delta Capacity deploying Sungrow's PowerTitan 2.0 systems across Scandinavia, Germany, Southern Europe, and Central Europe through 2026 and 800 MWh currently being built.
The deal feeds directly into Delta Capacity's target of 6 GWh in operational assets by 2030. A pipeline spanning multiple high-demand markets gives that goal credibility. Patrik Hes, Founder and CEO of Delta Capacity, said: "This framework agreement reflects both our rapid growth and our ability to execute large projects quickly while maintaining high standards."
Grid operators across the continent are racing to add flexible storage as renewable penetration deepens and balancing requirements grow more complex. Utility-scale storage at gigawatt-hour scale addresses precisely the reliability gap that regulators have been pushing hard to fill.
Among the clearest beneficiaries are businesses procuring power across the targeted regions. Dispatchable storage absorbs surplus generation and smooths demand peaks, cutting the price volatility that has historically burdened industrial consumers. PowerTitan 2.0's containerized design also speeds up site commissioning, shrinking deployment timelines that have long slowed large infrastructure rollouts. Execution speed may prove as commercially decisive as the hardware itself.
Both companies enter the second half of 2026 with a clear operational roadmap. Early construction progress suggests delivery confidence is high, and European storage markets will be watching closely.
